When someone arrives with nothing, information is the first form of protection.
Defending human rights does not stop at documenting abuses. It also means making sure that people who have fled them can find a doctor, a bed, a lawyer and a phone number that works, in a language they understand, on the day they arrive.
That is why we built these guides. They are free, they work without internet once opened, and they are written in Amharic and English (plus French for France and Norwegian for Norway). They are part of our mission as a team of human-rights defenders, and we make them together with the local Amhara community organisations that know their country.
How to keep it on your phone
- Open the guide in your phone’s browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android).
- Choose “Add to Home Screen” (iPhone: the Share button first).
- It now opens like an app, even without internet.
Please note
These guides give general information, checked against official sources on the date shown inside each guide. They are not legal advice. Phone numbers and rules change: when in doubt, check the official websites listed in the guide.
